10 essential items for traveling teens

Packing efficiently is an art that all traveling teens should master early. With some thoughtful planning and a bit of parental supervision, young adults will find their journeys — whether it’s with family, friends or solo — more liberating if they concentrate on essential items, eliminate clutter and fine-tune their organizational skills.

Of course, packing can be a challenge for even veteran globetrotters, so establishing good habits early will help teens feel more confident and travel savvy as they begin to spread their wings and travel independently.

Certainly, apparel (and luggage choice) will depend on the destination, the type of trip, climate and mode of transportation. Board Approves New Climate-Housing, Vehicle Miles Traveled Rules | News

County supervisors approved new Vehicle-Miles-Traveled guidelines for new development in unincorporated communities Wednesday that will fight climate change and still allow approximately 7,700 homes to be built faster and without expensive traffic studies.

The Board’s action to adopt a new Transportation Study Guide brings County policies into synch with the state of California’s Vehicle Miles Traveled law.

That law aims to reduce greenhouse gas emissions from cars and fight climate change by asking proposed developments how many miles the people living in them would have to drive on average to reach jobs, amenities or transit.

The Board’s vote means housing proposed in unincorporated areas where cars would travel at least 15% fewer miles than the average of all drivers in the entire county including city areas ― could be built without Vehicle-Miles-Traveled studies and mitigation.

That would reduce the cost and streamline the review and consideration process for “infill and

Reports suggest that Canada is back within reach for traveling Americans

Multiple news outlets are reporting that Canada is expected to drop the vaccine requirement for people entering Canada as well as the requirement to fill out the ArriveCan app.

The moves are expected to take place by the end of the month , the Associated Press reported based on information provided to it by an official familiar with the matter who spoke on the condition of anonymity because they aren’t authorized to speak publicly about it.

Canada is also expected to stop random Covid-19 testing at airports.

The United States still requires foreign travelers to be vaccinated when they enter the country.

The official told the AP that Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has to sign off on the changes.
