Queen Elizabeth II, Britain’s longest-reigning monarch, died Thursday at her Scotland estate, Balmoral Castle. She was 96.

Upon her death, her elder son, Charles, became king.

“The death of my beloved Mother, Her Majesty The Queen, is a moment of the greatest sadness for me and all members of my family,” King Charles III said Thursday in a statement shared by Buckingham Palace. “We mourn profoundly the passing of a cherished Sovereign and a much-loved Mother. I know her loss will be deeply felt throughout the country, the Realms and the Commonwealth, and by countless people around the world.”

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have changed their European trip itinerary after the Palace announced today that the Queen has been put under medical supervision in Balmoral, Scotland. Harry traveled to join her and family members Prince Charles and Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, along with his brother Prince William, who also traveled to Scotland to be with his grandmother. Meghan Markle remains in London, a source told Omid Scobie.

Meghan and Harry’s spokesperson confirmed this morning that the couple was traveling to Scotland to be with the Queen. They were supposed to attend the WellChild Awards today in London but understandably canceled their appearance, Hello! reported.

A source later specified to royal reporter Omid Scobie that only Harry traveled to Balmoral, while Meghan remained in London.

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) — You can add a massive construction project to the list of traveling hassles through canceled flights, long wait times, and lost bags in Houston.

It’s been a painful summer for air travelers, and now, the head of the Houston Airport System is admitting to our ABC13 partner, The Houston Chronicle, that airport problems caught even him off guard.

Analysts predicted that air travel wouldn’t be back in full swing until 2024 or 2025 since the pandemic hit in 2020.

But, the Houston Airport System head told the Houston Chronicle that domestic, European, and Latin American travel is almost back to normal at Houston airports.

At Bush Intercontinental Airport, the combination of higher than expected travel and the airport’s $1.4 billion dollar construction project has brought significant problems.
